This Privacy Policy describes the types of information that the Justice systems Institute (“JSI”) may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website www.jsi-global.org (the “Site”) or donate to the Justice Systems Institute, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. Please be advised that we recommend that you read the “Privacy” link on the Site each time you visit the Site. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your agreement to the Policy, as it may be amended from time to time. 

Section 1.0 - Information We May Collect.

We may collect your personal information you when you submit it to Site Donate page or form. The below referenced methods may be ways you provide us your information:

  • Automatically Collected Data: JSI may automatically collect and store IP addresses and domain names of visitors’ computers. We may also track the number, frequency, and length of visits to each page. If you visit our website from another website, we may also identify that source link. Automatically collected data is used to determine which sections of our website are the most visited and by whom, allows us to determine important content read, and how much time an individual spends on a particular page. These data may be used to make the Site a suitable resource for information.

  • Registration: You do not need to register to use our Site. We may, however, request that you register your personal information to subscribe to particular areas of your interest, or to receive news or publications.

  • Donations: Donation transactions are secure electronic transactions. To donate, you will be required to provide personal information about yourself. When you donate using our Site, your transaction is processed by either PayPal, Square, Stripe, or Apple Pay. JSI does not have access to your financial institution or credit card information or data. Your personal information (i.e., name, mailing address, email, donation amount, etc.) is transmitted to JSI by a secure connection. You can verify your transaction is secure by looking for ”https” at the beginning of the URL and checking for the closed lock or unbroken key in the browser, which indicates that your data will be secure and encrypted when submitted on our Site.

  • Communications: You may contact JSI information to subscribe to particular areas of your interest, to receive news or publications, or to receive other mailings. When you provide us with your email address and mailing address, we may contact you to ask you to support JSI. You may elect to not receive any requests by emailing info@jsi-global.org. If you have opted to receive any of our publications by email, you are able at any time to unsubscribe from that publication by clicking the “unsubscribe” link that appears at the end of the email publication.

Section 2.0 – Use and Sharing of Your Information.

The Justice systems Institute may disclose certain personal information to third parties to:

  • Manage our website and database with the help of service providers,

  • Manage normal business operations,

  • Communicate your interactions with us or about Site features,

  • Meet laws or requested by governmental or law enforcement authorities, subpoena, court order or discovery request, or

  • Maintain, in good faith, that a disclosure is appropriate in connection with any activity that may violate the law or the rights of others, threaten the safety or security of any person or property, or expose JSI to liability.

Section 3.0 - Children’s Privacy.

The Site is not developed to intentionally target or seek to collect information from children under the age of 16 (“Child” or “Children”). JSI will not knowingly request information from person or persons under 16 years of age.  If we become aware that we have collected information from a Child or Children, we will promptly use our best efforts to delete that information from our records.

Section 4.0 - Notice Procedures.

Please send all Privacy Policy-related communications to us at info@jsi-global.org.  To the fullest extent permitted by law, you, by accessing the Site, agree to receive all legally required notices regarding JSI’s Privacy Policy or any privacy or security breaches relating to the Site at the email address you provided to contact the Site.

Section 5.0 - Governing Law.

You agree that this Policy and your use of this Site shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of Connecticut. Any dispute relating to this Policy and your use of this Site shall be resolved solely in the state or federal courts located in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
